Hip and Knee Pain
The hips and knees take the most force from your body weight considering that they are the lower aspect of your center of gravity. If the hips and knees do not have the proper stability and/or mobility, then extra "wear and tear" will be put on those joints and the surrounding structures during activities of daily living and sports. Also, if the knees and hips are not moving properly, they may not only be causing irritation and injury to the knees and hips, but also to their neighboring joints (e.g. low back and ankles/feet). Dr. Crystal with not only treat the area of pain, but will also address the dysfunction that is causing the pain. For example, knee pain may be a result of improper ankle mobility.
Dr. Crystal will treat the dysfunction, and then show you stretches and stabilizing exercises to help resolve the current problem and reduce the chances of re-injury. In addition to extremity adjusting, Dr. Crystal addresses hip and knee pain using an array of techniques depending on your condition. Techniques used to treat hip and knee pain can include the following: Myofascial release, IASM, Taping, and even Dry Needling.
